ISAR was created to promote contacts among scientists undertaking research in aeolian processes and landforms, to stimulate scientific research in aeolian topics and related fields, and to further the application of the results of such research into practical applications.
Our Mission
We try to accomplish these objectives by promoting contacts among those undertaking research in aeolian processes and related subjects for discussion and comparison of research results; by initiating conferences such as International Conference on Aeolian Research (ICAR) conferences, and related conferences; by organizing relevant excursions and demonstrations; by establishing contacts and cooperation with organizations in other fields of science aimed at similar general purposes; and by supporting the publication of the peer-reviewed scientific journal ‘Aeolian Research’. We are organized and operated exclusively for scientific and educational purposes and not for profit.
Our History
The first ICAR meeting was in 1985 and starting in 1996, ICAR meetings were held every four years. Due to their popularity it was agreed to increase the meeting frequency to two years in 2016
