About Us:
The International Society of Aeolian Research (ISAR) was created to promote contacts among scientists undertaking research in aeolian processes and landforms, stimulate scientific research in aeolian topics and related fields, and further the practical application of the results of such research. ISAR is governed by a Board of Directors as outlined in the Bylaws, which meets quarterly.
Honorarium Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate student in good academic standing to join the board as an ISAR Graduate Technical Assistant. In addition to providing insight during board meetings, the candidate will work closely with the board on website design, community engagement, and organizational tasks. The student will receive financial support.
Responsibilities:
- The position duration is 1 year from the start date.
- Attend board meetings and other virtual events
- Assist in updating and maintaining the ISAR website.
- Support organizational communication under the guidance of the Board of Directors.
- Manage and organize meeting notes and organization documents.
- Assist the Treasurer and Secretary with the membership system by updating member information at the end of every month, responding to any member inquiries via email, and ensuring accurate records.
- Manage and update the mailing list, ensuring accurate contact information.
- Draft, format, and send ISAR update messages and newsletters on schedule.
- Attend bi-weekly meetings to discuss and review the progress of current tasks.
- Manage the ISAR youtube channel.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Flexible work schedule.
- Current graduate student in good standing.
- Remain a graduate student for the duration of the position.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient (or willing to learn) in website management tools and platforms.
- Research interests in aeolian processes and landforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Award: The scholarship offers a total stipend of $5000 USD.
